For Egg Donors

Your Complete Guide to Becoming an Egg Donor
Becoming an egg donor is a meaningful and life-changing decision that helps intended parents achieve their dreams of starting or growing a family. At Everie, we make sure all our donors are fully informed, supported, and empowered throughout the entire egg donation process. From choosing between fresh or frozen donation to selecting recipient parents through our Mutual Matching™ process, you’re in control every step of the way.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you understand the journey from application to donation!
Check the Requirements
Before even filling out an application, you should make sure you meet these standard egg donor requirements:
· Between 21 and 29 years old
· US citizenship
· Education beyond high school
· BMI of 29 or below
· Non-smoker
· No drug use
· Can provide 3 generations of medical history for blood relations
Fill Out Our Application
If you meet each of these qualifications, then it’s time to fill out our application! Our application is designed to get to know you better. It includes details about your medical and family history, your lifestyle, your interests, and places to upload photos of yourself.
Our team will then review your application. If you are chosen as an eligible donor, then you'll move forward to the next stage: screening.
Screening Process
Our screening process ensures you’re a good candidate for egg donation. This part of the egg donation process typically takes about 2 to 3 months. Here's what you can expect:
· Health Evaluation: You’ll undergo medical exams, including blood work to assess your ovarian reserve and test for genetic carriers.
· Psychological Assessment: Understanding the emotional and psychological aspects of egg donation is crucial. We want to ensure you're ready for this life-long journey that does not end with the egg retrieval.
· Background Check: A background check will be done to ensure there are no legal issues that might prevent you from donating.
Choose a Fresh or Frozen Egg Donation Cycle
Both fresh and frozen donations will begin with you filling out an egg donor application. Our team will review your application and connect with you to answer questions, provide education on our different donation types, and determine with you which egg donation cycle is best for you. Up until this point, the steps to becoming an egg donor are the same. However, the following steps will not be determined until you choose between a fresh or frozen egg donation cycle.
Fresh Donation Cycle
· Wait to hear from potential recipient parent matches
· Mutual Matching™ with parents
· Begin medical donation process
· Retrieval
· Compensation.
Frozen Donation Cycle
· Begin medical donation process
· Retrieval
· Compensation
· Mutual Matching™ with parents

Medical Screening and Donation Process
When you begin the egg donation medical process will depend on which donation cycle you choose. The process for each donation type, however, is the same.
Beginning on the second day of your next menstrual cycle, you will begin with at-home ovarian stimulation injections for about 10 to 13 days. You will go to your physician’s office about 5 to 6 times for monitoring during these two weeks.
When your body is ready for the egg retrieval process, you will travel to your intended parents’ IVF clinic. We generally advise our donors to allot anywhere from 5 to 10 days total for this trip, even though the actual retrieval will only last about 20 minutes! When your eggs have fully matured, you’ll be ready for the short outpatient procedure.
Mutual Matching™
Whether you match with your intended parents before your egg retrieval for a fresh donation or afterwards due to a frozen donation, your right to choose your ideal match remains up to you!
At Everie, our Mutual Matching™ process ensures that both donors and recipient parents have a voice in the matching process. By giving both parties a role in the decision-making, we aim to foster the foundation for meaningful, long-lasting relationships as they begin this journey together.
Egg Donor Compensation
In addition to making a life-changing impact, many women choose egg donation for the competitive compensation — and rightfully so! First-time donors receive $9,000, with many using their earnings to start businesses, travel, or further their education.
We ensure you're fairly compensated for your time and effort, including any temporary disruptions to your routine. If you choose to donate again, we'll offer higher compensation based on your experience and previous results, such as egg quantity and quality.
At Everie, we understand the importance of your decision and believe you should be justly compensated for your generous contribution to helping others build their families.
