How Much Does an Egg Donor Make: The Ins & Outs of Egg Donor Compensation

When you decide to become an egg donor, you are not only positively changing someone else’s life but your own as well. You will forever be part of a community of like-minded, courageous women. You will feel empowered by your choice and your ability to control every step of your journey. You will also be monetarily compensated for your donation, which, we know, can be a great motivator for many of our donors.

While egg donor compensation may not be your sole motivation, understanding how much an egg donor makes and what you can expect is important. Keep reading to learn more.

What Can You Use Your Egg Donor Payment For?

We have seen women use their egg donor compensation to open their own businesses, travel the world, pay off student loans, and further their educational pursuits. While we understand you might want to donate your eggs for money, we encourage all our donors to also consider the positive outcomes beyond the egg donor compensation.

Because we understand the weight of your decision to donate your eggs, we believe you should be properly compensated for your noble donation to help others build their families.

How Much Do You Get Paid for Egg Donation?

We start our pay for first-time donors at $9,000.

This should compensate for your time—and the small disruption in your normal activities, all for the benefit of helping others—your energy, and your tolerance for experiencing some discomfort during the egg retrieval process.

We offer increased compensation for returning donors. In other words, if you decide to make additional egg donations to help more couples grow their families, then we will work with you to set a higher payment expectation for these subsequent egg donation cycles.

We compensate returning donors with an increased rate because intended parents now have the advantage of reviewing the results from your previous egg retrieval process, including the quality and quantity of eggs donated in a single cycle.

When Do Egg Donors Get Paid?

The total compensation will be paid to you upon completion of your egg retrieval procedure. If you decide to donate your eggs, go through the medical screening process, and find out you are ineligible, we will still pay you about $500 for your time.

Any remaining balance will be given to you after your egg donation is complete. This is guaranteed regardless of what happens with your eggs after retrieval. Even if no donor-conceived children result from your donation, we still pay you for your emotional and physical contribution.

Refer to our egg donation timeline to see when compensation occurs for fresh vs. frozen eggs.
